Awana is an international, Bible-centered youth ministry
providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs for
pre-schoolers through high schoolers.

Our goal is to reach boys and girls, and their families, with the
gospel of
Christ and train them to serve Him.

The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of the phrase “Approved
Workmen Are Not Ashamed”
(2 Timothy 2:15).

Cubbies is the Awana Club for preschoolers during the two
prior to regular kindergarten, usually three- and four-year-olds.

Cubbies is unique because it supports and maintains
parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing by directly
involving them in the teaching and learning process.

Cubbies use the fundamental Awana elements of games and activities,
Bible memorization, handbooks, and awards.

Sparks is the Awana Club for kindergartners,
first-graders, and second-graders.  Each club meeting has
three parts.
In Game Time, Sparkies enjoy entertaining games played on the
Game Circle.

During Green Meadow Time, Sparkies gather for their
age-appropriate Bible lesson.  During Sparkle Time, clubbers
Bible verses from memory, complete handbook sections, and earn awards.

Sparky, the friendly firefly, appears throughout the Bible-based
materials to encourage clubbers to complete their handbook

We want our Awana clubbers to know the truth
of God’s Word, and we want to train them to serve Him in their everyday

The very first night clubbers attend
T&T, they receive the Start Zone, the starting point for all
T&T clubbers.  Start Zone is a small booklet that
explains what
it means to trust Christ as Savior.

Once a clubber completes the Start Zone, he or she will be eligible to
purchase a handbook and uniform.

Actually, the T&T program has four handbooks called The
Adventure Series.  Clubbers progress through these levels at
their own pace.

Let’s take the first handbook as an example.  In Book One we
focus on four questions:

  • Why did God give us the Bible?
  • Who is God?
  • Who is the Lord Jesus?
  • How does God want me to live my life?
Each of the four questions has eight
answers.  Clubbers must give the answers to the questions (can
be in
their own words) and recite backup verses from the Bible.

Once they
complete the Start Zone, clubbers receive an award badge with places to
mark the completion of each handbook segment.  In addition to
regular sections, there are extra-credit sections (with special awards)
throughout the handbooks.  After completing each book,
clubbers receive a book completion patch to wear on their uniforms.

Finally, Awana has a series of major awards
to motivate kids to higher levels of Bible memorization and study.
Throughout the handbooks, the clubbers will read about a
group of kids who are always ready for adventure!

arthurArthur enjoys science and
checking out stuff on his dad’s computer.
He’s also the kid with the 313½ freckles.
leahMeet Leah.  Her
claim to fame is saying the alphabet backwards in three seconds flat.
erikErik is the little kid
with the BIG words.
He’s not obnoxious about it, but sometimes his brilliance
make the other kids roll their eyes.
carlosThen there’s Carlos.
His priorities are skateboarding and teasing the girls.
kristiChristy is totally into
soccer.  You can’t find a soccer term she doesn’t know.
streamwookAnd of course we can’t
forget Streamwood.
This bunch does fun things like:
  • Study outer space.
  • Spend a summer at the beach.
  • Act in a video set in Israel.
  • Go on a great outdoors vacation.
